NCR - Selfish self service Visual

NCR - Selfish self service Concepts

Four concepts were created on rhino-

1. Joy stick – gloves can be worn, easy to use
2. 4 Button – gloves can be worn, hard to understand
3. 3 Button – gloves can be worn, easy to use, small screen because large buttons
4. Touch screen – gloves could not be worn, large screen

The joy stick was the design that was best suited for the map/pass so i took that further and made a mock up.

The interface for the device will have various different services from position on the map, weather forecast and area covered.

NCR - Selfish self service research

Thinking of an all in one device, i decided to look into GPS. An all in on GPS device with a lift pass incorporated into it. I looked at GPS and screen technology, which will work outside in strong sunlight. A Transflictive screen is a screen which has a reflective module built into it, this module reflects the sunlight off the LCD screen, allowing the user to reed off of the screen easier. I also looked at Mp3 player rubber casings and arm straps, which i thought would be good to incorporate into the design of the device.

NCR - Selfish self service ideas

Looking into snowboarding there is a lot to it. There is a lot of gear and accessories that are needed on the mountain, from the snowboard to goggles. First of all i needed to find something that is used every time on the slopes, something that annoys me every time and something if improved would be a great success.
The main two areas that i find most irritating are the map of the mountain and the lift pass. If these two could be put together into one item it would make the day on the slopes easier.

NCR - Inspiration Board

For our day down in Dundee, we were asked to bring along an A3 board with our inspiration on it. On my board I decided to use music, family and snowboarding. Also in the background there is an outline of Scotland.
